Children of the Silk Route

Children of the Silk Route was a sponsored drive by Dr. Hugh Carpenter, upon his retirement as the official UK doctor in Bangladesh.  Carpenter and driver John Boroi, and mechanic Fazal Ahmed drove from Bangladesh to Britain through 14 countries in two months to raise funds for Save the Children Fund - UK. 

En route, they filmed a video documentary about the courage and plight of orphans and children with disabilities along the route in South Asia, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe.
